This 10-day Tanzania Adventure includes a Safari through Tanzania’s magnificent parks and a visit to Zanzibar Beach for relaxation and eye-opening lessons on East African history. The trip starts at Arusha by a series of game drives to Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park and on the way back to Arusha through Tarangire National Park. There will be a few interesting stops along the way depending on time and choice of itinerary. If you are up to it, you may chose to go to Marangu to see and take pictures of Mt. Kilimanjaro upclose before proceeding to Zanzibar. Along the way you will get to visit the town of Moshi, Marangu Falls, an open market and a small-scale coffee farm. The adventure will then switch gears when you take a one hour flight to Zanzibar, where you will get a chance to relax on the beach and get to enjoy Zanzibar’s famous white sands and clear torquise water, perfect for snorkeling and diving.
Itinerary:
Day 01: We leave Arusha at 8:00am and drive for 2 hours to Lake Manyara National Park. At Lake Manyara we take an afternoon game drive and stopping for a picnic lunch along the game drive. In the late afternoon we arrive at the designated hotel/lodge for our overnight stay near Lake Manyara Park.
Day 02: After breakfast we leave the hotel/lodge and drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge. We visit the Olduvai Museum and have the option of visiting a Maasai Village. We go on a game drive en route and overnight at our designated hotel/lodge at the Serengeti.
Day 03: At Serengeti National Park – The entire day is spent game viewing in the world-famous Serengeti National Park on this day. You have a choice of hot lunch at the hotel/lodge or a picnic lunch will be served and the night is spent at the hotel/lodge.
Day 04: After breakfast we go for a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch stop at Nabi Hill gate. The game drive then takes us through the Malanja Depression, passing through various Masai villages on our way to the renowned Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We arrive at our lodge/hotel in time for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 05: At the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a six-hour game drive in ‘Africa’s Eden’. In the afternoon we visit one of the local Masai villages. We then proceed to our designated hotel/lodge near Tarangire National Park.
Day 06: After breakfast we take a morning game drive through Tarangire National Park. We leave Tarangire and head towards Arusha. Enroute, we stop by the small town of Mto wa Mbu and the snake Park where we will see and learn about a variety of dangerous tropical snakes and other reptiles. Those who are interested can also go for an adventurous camel ride.
Day 07: In Arusha. A day of rest in Arusha. You can take a walk in the city of Arusha and relax for the day. Arusha is a typical busy African city but with a very high number of tourists because of the attractions nearby. After one week on the go, most people will welcome this day of total relaxation at the hotel in the city.
Day 08: After breakfast, we leave the airport for our 45-minutes flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport you will be driven to your designated hotel. All your meals are covered by the cost of the package.
Day 09: All day of rest and relaxation on the beach. Short excursion trips including diving can be arranged depending on your plans. Other activities like snorkeling and diving can be arranged. Sightseeing in stone town with options to visit Prison Island, Jozani forest or any other historical sites as you wish. Learn about the East African slave trade and the history of Zanzibar islands.
Day 10: Travel day. After breakfast get ready to transfer to the airport back to Arusha or your home, depending on your plans.
