Part 1: Mt Kilimanjaro Climb:
Itinerary:
Day 01: Drive to Marangu Gate which is 1800 meters above sea level. Register and start the trekking to Mandara which is about 9 kilometers and 2700 meter above sea level. During the trekking you may be lucky to see black and white Colobus monkeys which are familiar in this rain forest. If you arrive early you can visit the Maundi Crater or pass there the following day on the way to Horombo.
Day 02: Depart to Horombo after the breakfast. After a few minutes walking you finish the forest zone and start the moorland zone to Horombo which is 3700m.above sea level. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 03: This is an acclimatization day in Horombo Hut.
Day 04: After an early breakfast you start trekking to Kibo Hut (4700m). You will pass Mawenzi ridge and saddle before arriving at this last hut to the top. Dinner and few hours sleep before the trekking start to the summit. First you reach Gillman’s point (5,865m.) in five hours and later proceed to Uhuru Peak via Stella point. After taking pictures of sunrise and a great view you descend back to Kibo for breakfast and rest.
Day 05: Walk down to Horombo for the last night in Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight in Horombo.
Day 06: After breakfast walk down to Marangu Gate to collect the “Mt. Kilimanjaro Gilman’s and Uhuru Peak’s Certificate”. Drive to Arusha.
End of Climb.
Part 2: Northern Safari Circuit – 6 days
Day 07: Early start. After breakfast you will drive from your hotel in Arusha to Lake Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive. Picnic lunch at the park. After lunch, drive to Serengeti National Park. Overnight at/near Serengeti.
Day 08: Early drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Spend the rest of today on game drive at Ngorongoro. Evening drive to Arusha. Dinner and overnight at the designated Lodge/Hotel in Arusha.
Day 09: Travel day. Sight-seeing in Arusha and souveneir shopping. Drive to the airport late afternoon for travel home.
End of the Safari.
